I am lucky enough to be the School Counselor at the the best school at the beach! I am strongly connected to our community and am an advocate for each and every one of our Cooke Seahawks. This is my fourth year as an elementary school counselor, but my thirteenth year at Cooke as an educator. I earned my Master's degree in Urban Education with a focus in School Counseling (pre-K through 12) from Norfolk State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Elementary Education (pre-K through 6) from Virginia Wesleyan University. I am a proud graduate of Kellam High School here in the Virginia Beach City Public School System! |
I have a few passions beyond counseling and teaching students. I absolutely love my one-eyed dog named Jack. Do not fret, you will hear all about him this year and even get to meet him! My family is the best in the world and I do not know what I would do without them! In my spare time I enjoy traveling and trying new sports, although I do not have an athletic bone in my body. This summer was quite different for me, as I am sure it was for everyone. I did not do my normal globe-trotting, but did enjoy a stay-cation relishing in what Virginia Beach has to offer. Whether at home or abroad, I love experiencing the diversity that traveling allows and enjoy bringing that back home to our students. There is no other job I would rather be doing! Our students are the future and I am excited about all the possibility it holds! |
