We recognize how hard you are working! Please take care of yourselves, as well. I am here if you need me.
Hello my Fabulous Cooke-es! We are in our 3rd week of Continuity of Learning!
K-2 docs.google.com/presentation/d/1BALGReH9Yks-AgHTJ_sdLJfS2YnGk-wFxf297iZYFaQ/mobilepresent?slide=id.p 3-5 docs.google.com/presentation/d/10Z1lMNrDlp6FtlZUzfupyWA-EYcUMcEh4bJD9eNkcKs/mobilepresent?slide=id.g81a18d017e_0_0 I hope this message finds you well! There have been a lot of changes lately, but one thing that has not changed at all is that I am STILL here for you! On that note, 3rd-5th graders, I have created a Google Survey Form to check in to see how you are doing. Teachers have assigned it on Schoology. While it is not mandatory, it is a tool to help me know how I can best help you! Remember: I AM HERE FOR YOU! Hello students and families! We are now in Week 2 of Continual Learning. I am proud of all the hard work being done by our students and want to remind everyone to take care of themselves during this time. Please remember your Social-Emotional Health. Below you will find some links for activities to do daily to ensure you are taking care of your self emotionally.

School Building and All Events All school buildings are closed. All events that are school-sponsored (on and off school grounds) are postponed. This includes field trips, PTA talent show, and Cashola events. Meals Beginning Tuesday, March 17, meals will be offered to all students without charge at the school sites listed below. To maintain the safety guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), meals will be provided using a drive by/pickup model. They will be bagged and include both a breakfast and lunch. Should pickup dates or sites be changed, you will be notified via AlertNow, on our website and through our official social media channels. Meals will be provided on weekdays beginning Tuesday, March 17, from 9 a.m. – noon. You can find the complete list of schools at this website - Click Here Special Education and Section 504 For students with disabilities instructed in the general curriculum, case managers will collaborate with general educators and ensure that students with disabilities have access to supports and any needed accommodations where reasonably feasible. For students with a Section 504 plan, school counselors will collaborate with general educators and ensure that these students have access to supports and any needed accommodations where reasonably feasible. If you have any questions, please contact your school counselor during their virtual office hours. IEP, Special Education Committee, 504, SRT meetings will still be held during this time. Your child’s case manager and the school counselor will be in contact with families to discuss virtual options and coordinate a date and time. Internet access We are committed to helping families without internet find options for connectivity. If you do not have internet access at home, please either complete this form or call (757) 263-1111 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also contact your child’s principal so arrangements can be made for access to alternative learning materials. Continuity of Learning We aim to keep our students engaged and learning over the next two weeks. During this school closure, we ask that parents and guardians encourage students to utilize the materials and resources their teachers have provided. Parents of pre-K students have received information from their child’s teacher. Students in grades K-12, at a minimum, will receive one learning activity per content area each week during the extended closure. This information has either been sent home or will be available online. You will be contacted by your child’s teacher with their virtual “office hours” in order to set up regular online or email conversations as needed during the closure. The purpose of these office hours is to answer questions students or parents may have about instructional tasks or resources. School counselors are also available to support our students with non-instructional needs based on a schedule that will be provided by the school. You may contact any counselor through email or Schoology message if you have any concern or issue that needs attention. For more information about this, please see our continuity of learning webpage. Even though Valentine's Day is over, we are still feeling the love here at Cooke.
We have been showing the love through self-care, practicing resilience. In grades K-2 students have been practicing resiliency by deciding whether to "Bounce" or "Splat" when confronted with a problem. 3rd-5th graders have participated in Centers meant to build resiliency: Being Assertive, Goals and Aspirations, Positive Outlook, Humor, and Support Systems. What to Look Forward to:
